Wedding Venue's in Nottingham, East Midlands

01st December 2015
Let's face it, we're spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing somewhere to get married in Nottingham and the East Midlands. There are so many great venues to suit a wide range of budgets and importantly dreams. We've been to quite a few as professional wedding photographers and each one is unique in its own right.

That's not to say every wedding venue is right for every couple! We understand that it's a very personal thing, driven by taste and emotions, and when you know, YOU KNOW! We've spoken to couples who have searched and searched without luck, and then the right one came along and they knew immediately that it was perfect for their big day.

We're not saying that this list is definitive, or the best, as we're sure there are lots of lovely venues which we've never photographed weddings at. However we get asked a lot, at events and wedding fairs, where is there to get married and what are the options in and around Nottinghamshire? So here are just a few to put on your shortlist and start your search for the perfect wedding venue:

Swancar Country Farm: Set in rolling countryside in Trowell, north of Nottingham. It's a beautiful red brick farm house with loads of charm and views. The Oak Hall is perfect for a wedding breakfast and importantly dancing or live bands later on. The bridal suite is fabulous, and makes it easy for anyone getting married, as there's no need to travel to the venue after hair and makeup as you're already there! The courtyard offers a great area to spill out into as the evening guests arrive.

The Walled Garden at Beeston Fields: The stunning walled garden is perfect for summer weddings and you can even get married outside, if the weather is good. There's a marquee for the wedding breakfast and evening entertainment, but nothing beats the garden in the evening sunshine. Set within high red brick walls and full of colour and flowers this venue makes you want be outside to enjoy the sunshine and champagne.

The Riding School at Calke Abbey: If its rustic charm elegantly balanced with jaw dropping interiors then The Riding School might just be what you are looking for. Situated in National Trust grounds of historic Calke Abbey this venue offers the flexibility of a blank canvas. It creates a dramatic backdrop for wedding photographs and is open, airy and intimate. You can separate the large riding school with beautiful fabrics draped from the high rafters and if you really want to go to town fill it full of fairy lights for an actual 'fairy tale' wedding.

Yeldersley Hall: An English country house nested in the Derbyshire countryside and surrounded by beautiful gardens. Perfect for weddings all year round with plenty of room in case the weather isn't great. Lots of accommodation makes it great for couples wanting to get ready at the venue, and it is decorated in a traditional English style that gives it that indulgent feel. The marquee extension off the ceremony room makes a great space for the wedding breakfast and speeches. There's even a walled garden and Victorian greenhouses to spread out on those warm summer evenings.

Harts Hotel, Nottingham: If a city centre venue with incredible food is top of your list of must haves for your wedding day then look no further than Harts hotel. This boutique hotel overlooks 'The Park' in Nottingham. The garden terrace has stunning views over the city and is the perfect location for the style conscious couple. Warm, inviting and intimate the ceremony room is situated above the Harts restaurant so it's just a short walk across from the hotel for the bride and groom. There are also plenty of areas to spread out allowing family and guests to relax without being too far from the happy couple.
